Mohammad S. Bajba

Deputy Executive Director, Ma’aden Aluminum Complex Project

Mr. Bajba is the Deputy Executive Director of Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) Aluminum Complex in Ras Azzour, Saudi Arabia. He joined Ma’aden in February 2009 and has been actively involved in all Aluminum Complex Project interfaces with local authorities and suppliers, such as Saudi Aramco, Saline Water Conservation Corporation (SWCC), and Saudi Electricity Company. With the support of Ma’aden Executive Management, Mr. Bajba was a key player in establishing the Energy Conversion Agreement with SWCC. Mr. Bajba is currently a Steering Committee Member for the Ras Azzour Power and Desalination Plant executed by SWCC, which will supply the power for the Ma’aden Aluminum Complex. Previously, he was responsible for the Power and Rolling Mill portion of the Aluminum Complex as the Project Director.

Mr. Bajba is also experienced in projects contracting and financing. During his work at the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) Engineering and Project Management from 2002-2009, he was involved as the Contract and Financing Manager for Yansab, Sharq and other SABIC mega-projects during the bidding cycle. He was also a Team Member in the SABIC-shared services project. In 2005, Mr. Bajba was assigned to be the Project Manager for the gas mega projects at Jubail VII and Yanbu III. Both projects were successfully completed ahead of schedule with a 100 percent Saudi project core team.

Mr. Bajba started his career as an Electrical Engineer at Kemya, where he worked from 1991-2002. He filled many technical positions in the maintenance, technical, and projects department. He was assigned as the Total Quality leader in 2000 and the Human Resources and Staff Development Manager in 2001. During this time, he led the innovation culture program deployed at Kemya.

Mr. Bajba is an active member in the International Youth Organization and Programs. He is also a public speaker in management programs supporting local schools and non-profit organizations in Jubail Industrial City.

Mr. Bajba received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. He also obtained a MBA from the University of Hull in the U.K. His research focused on instituting innovative culture in petrochemical organizations.
