Vice Chairman and CEO, Saudi Basic Industries Corporation
Eng. Mohamed Al-Mady has been Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) since July 1998. He joined SABIC in 1976, and since then has held various key positions within the company.
Delivering numerous keynote speeches and specialized work papers at various industrial and economic conferences, Eng. Al-Mady regularly represents SABIC in the press and media. He has received many awards, including the Middle East CEO Awards in 2005 and the International Petrochemical Heritage Award in 2009. This year, he was elected by Colorado Engineering and Applied Sciences College to be honored among the gifted graduates with global scientific and industrial contributions in 2010 .
Eng. Al-Mady is a Member of the International Advisory Councils for King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals, and Prince Mohammed bin Fahad University. He is also a Member of the National Industrial Clusters Development Program, the Supreme Council for the Armed Forces in Domestic Manufacturing, and the Economic Offset Committee. Eng. Al-Mady is Chairman of the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association and Chairman and Managing Director for the Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company. In addition, he is an Honorary Member for the Advisory Council for Meteorology and Enviroment Protection. Eng. Al-Mady is a Member of the International Business Council for the World Economic Forum and a Board Member of the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.
Eng. Al-Mady received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Univeristy of Wyoming in Laramie.
