Charles S. Hallab

Chair, Middle East Practice, North America, Baker & McKenzie LLP

Charles Hallab is Chair of the Middle East Practice for the North America Corporate Group at Baker & McKenzie, LLP.  He is also Partner in the Corporate and Securities Group.

Mr. Hallab advises clients on a variety of international corporate and commercial matters, with emphasis on joint ventures, commercial alliances, and mergers and acquisitions.  In addition, he manages a variety of corporate and commercial transactions inbound to and outbound from the Middle East, with a focus on Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.  He also leads the Joint Venture, Strategic Alliance and International Business Combinations Practice, helping companies around the world negotiate and execute corporate and commercial transactions and collaborations.  He serves as the lead Corporate Partner for the North American Climate Change Practice and as the Hiring Partner for the firm’s Chicago office.

A Member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association, Mr. Hallab is also a Member of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the U.S.-Arab Chamber of Commerce, the Arab-American Bar Association, the Generation Project, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is the recipient of the Robert L. Berner Pro-Bono Award, a public-service award of excellence from Baker & McKenzie.

Mr. Hallab received both his law degree and MBA from Georgetown University in 1988.  That same year, he was admitted to practice law in Illinois and D.C.
